Are Weight Watchers Are Slow In Loosing Weight?

I dont have insurance and am trying to come off my blood pressure meds Lisinopril and Travitan and Timolol drops for glaucoma. On Weight watchers and have only lost 20 pounds in 4 months ... is this too slow? I have a total of 80 pounds to loose and was thinking about HCG to speed up the process.

Hi,

Losing 1-2 pounds a week is a good goal. Four months is about 18 weeks, so losing 20 pounds is definitely fine. I think your strategy to lose weight is a bit misguided. Weight loss shouldn't be about speed, it needs to be about long-lasting changes. Ex. If you lost 50lbs in 4 months, stopped Weight Watchers and gained the weight back in a year, it wouldn't be very helpful at all. If you lost 20lbs in 4 months, continued this for 2 years and lost 80lbs and continued a healthy lifestyle (using the skills you learned at Weight Watchers), then you'll be much healthier for the rest of your life.

I can understand your frustration about wanting to lose weight quickly, but it is not a "sprint" and is a "marathon". I would not recommend HCG as that can increase your blood pressure and cause other side-effects. Once you stop the HCG, your weight may regain anyways. Losing 20lbs is great and you can continue that!

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
