Back Pain On Lower Part Of Spine, Lump On Spine, Pain On Touching, Sitting. Cure For Pain?
Hi I ve had a very bad back pain recently. It s a lower and middle part of my spin. Basically really hurts in the mornings when I wake up it hurts when I breath or yawn can t lie on my back only on side. And found a lump on my spine in the middle part that extremely hurts when you touch it even when I sit and touch the chair it hurts. Any ideas please?
Thanks for the query. Its important to examine that lump. It may be from soft tissue over the spine. Sometimes lipoma may become painful. I would suggest to get it examined by a doctor to rule out serious problem. Pain medicine will relieve the pain but its important to know the nature of the lump. Thanks.
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The painful lump on your back could be due to a local infection in the area like abscess. You need to get the area examined by an orthopedician for a proper diagnosis so that proper treatment can be started.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Mobile painful lumps in the lower back are likely to be due to a benign collection of fat cells called lipoma or paraspinal abscess. If it becomes infected, it becomes painful.
A detailed examination and investigations like MRI scan are needed to confirm the cause.
Right now you can start with mild pain killers like ibuprofen along with a hot fomentation for pain relief.
I hope this answers your query.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
Dr. Saurabh Gupta
