Back Pain, Tender Ribs, Pain On Touching, Breathing Deeply, Raising Left Arm. Treatment?
I have pain in my mid back. My rib is tender to the touch. It began hurting yesterday and has not subsided. I haven t done anything to injur myself. The pain begin gradually. It also is impossible to breath deeply without severe pain. It also hurts in my back (same rib area) when I raise my left arm . What could it be?
It seems like a muscle sprain, probably costocondritis. I hope you are not suffering from an acute viral fever, as this is common in it. It is also possible that it is the prodromal stage of a typical viral fever.
Relax, nothing to bother much. You will be fine soon. Please consider taking over the counter painkillers like Tylenol thrice daily for next 2 to 3 days. Give yourself adequate bed rest.
You should be back to normal soon.
Get well soon.
