Been Advised Rantac For Severe Acid Reflux. What Is The Dosage And When To Take The Medicine?
I HAVE A HUGE INFLUX OF GASTRIC ACID PROBLEM BEING FACED FOR MORE THAN 10 YRS. I HAVE TAKEN MEDICINES LINE LAN 30, PARIT 20. FEW MONTHS BACK THEY SUGGESTED TO TAKE PAN L. NOW DOCTORS SAYS PAN L CANT BE TAKEN FOR A LONG TIME. NOW THEY HAVE ADVISED TO TAKE 150G RANTAC DAILY. THE PROBLEM FACED BY ME IS HUGE BURNING PAIN THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STOMACH FOLLOWED BY INDIGESTON. SUGGEST WHEN TO TAKE RANTACK ? SHOULD I TAKE BEFORE BREAK FAST AND DINNER OR ANYTHING ELSE. AM I REQUIRED TO TAKE THE ABOVE INDEFINITELY. IS THERE ANY TREATMENT TO REDUCE INFLUX OF ACID ON A PERMANENT BASIS?
Rantac needs to be taken twice a day before meals. So you should take it before break-fast and dinner. Your doctors have correctly advised you that pantoprazole and similar medicines should not be taken for long. In addition, life style changes like avoiding spicy and oily foods, taking meals at regular hours etc also help. Stress increases the acid production and you should try to avoid getting stressed. In addition, an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and other investigations must be done to find the cause of excessive acid production.
Hope this helps you. Best wishes.
