Black Mole On Hand, Lost Color, Raised With Scaly Texture. Family History Of Cancer. Anything To Worry?

My daughter has had a flat dark brown mole on her hand since childhood. In the past couple weeks it has lost all color and and becomes raised with a scaly texture. She has a strong family history of cancers. She has seen her university doctor and was referred to a dermatologist. Is this something that we should be concerned with

Hi, it is always better to get it checked , when a long standing lole is changing its structure, to exclude malignancy. I advise you to consult a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have a biopsy of the mole to exclude the malignancy. Thank you.
