Bleeding From Nipple, Green Discharge, Swelling In Breast, Pain On Outer Side. Breast Cancer?
my 18yr old daughter has has blood from her rt nipple , got checked by a breast dr. Concluded it is a blocked duct. Blood stopped seeping n a greenish color seeped only when squeezed. Now the same breast is the size of a grapefruit whilke the other a small apple. She has extreme pain on the outer side od the breast. They dont think Cancer . Its been 4 months now and no change or relief. If anything more painful. They dont really know. She had ultrasounds and no lumps were found. But where it is painful most it feels bumpy on the inside under the skin. Any ideas? Im afraid it is somthing bad and we ll find out to late. This has all occured over the last 4 months.
Sorry to hear about your daughter's complaints. The symptoms are certainly not suggestive of cancer. The commonest cause of bloody discharge in young girls is a duct papilloma. This is not a cancerous condition but a small growth which sloughs off and produces bloody discharge. Sometimes it is so small, that it cannot be picked up on scans or physical examination. The only way to diagnose it is to send the bloody discharge for cytological examination or do a ductoscopy. If it is diagnosed, it can be treated by a minor surgical procedure. You should seek the advise of a breast surgeon at the earliest.
Hoping for the best.
