Hello

Thanks for consulting H.C.M.

I read your query regarding blood in sputum for last 3 months. As you said that you you have consulted doctor about this and doctor said that it is from sinuses.

I would like to tell you that blood in sputum may come from-

1- lungs.

2- throat.

3- posterior part of nose & paranasal sinuses.

Remady of treatment depends upon the basic disease of any of above sites. To confirm it these basic investigations are necessary-

1- C.T. scan of paranasal sinuses.

2- X-Ray chest ( PA view ).

3- Culture & sensitivity of sputum.

4- Sputum for Afb.

5- Blood - CBC, ESR, Blood sugar (F & PP).

After this a thorough examination of nose, throat and chest and there clinical co relation with above relevent investigations one may reach to correct diagnosis which may be accordingly plan for treatment.

Hope your query is answered.

Regards.
