I have had blood in my urine for years. Not visible but indicated by urine test in varying degrees never to exceed moderate. Have been to the doctor for this problem and no reason can be found. One doctor indicated that some women just have blood in their urine. Is this true. Should I be worried since I have had this for so long?
Hi, It seems that you might be having chronic urinary tract infection. If require go for ultra sound and find out if any problem in your urinary tract. Go for urine check up and culture sensitivity test. After report go for specific long antibiotic medicine course after consulting your doctor. Take plenty of water. Ok and take care.
You didn't mentioned your age .Causes varies with age. It is true that hematuria(blood in urine) can be idiopathic(reason not known). But, it may be associated with many conditions and it should be excluded. You need proper clinical examination and investigations. Causes of hematuria may be renal or urinary bladder calculus, tumour, trauma,UTI,STD etc. Investigation include routine hemogram,RBS,urine RE/ME, ultrasound of abdomen,CT Scan of abdomen if needed. Treatment depends upon clinical findings and investigation reports.
