Blood In Urine, Burning Sensation, High Amount Of Protein In Blood. What It Could Be?
A friend had some visible blood in her urine eight months ago. She went to a specialist who has been monitoring her. About two months ago,her symptoms were burning when urinating and she went to her primary who gave her antibiotics. They worked for a while then the symptoms returned. Her primary did a blood test and urine analysis that showed some blood in her urine and high amount of protein in the blood. Know she is being send to a urologist with a suggestion of a bladder problem. She thought cancer. What else could the diagnosis possibly be? My friend is eighty-three years old.
Do not worry with unnecessary conclusions and diagnosis.
Lot of other conditions can cause blood in the urine.
This could be because of a stone in the bladder. A ultrasound abdomen will help in arriving at the diagnosis.
Urinary tract infection is the most common cause of blood in the urine. A urine culture and sensitivity will help in diagnosis.
Investigations like blood urea, creatinine, after a physical examination are required to arrive at a diagnosis.

Hope this helps.
