Blood Sugar Drops Consistently If There Is Anxiety Or Stress. How To Treat It It?

My blood sugars is usually in the normal range. However, when I become stressed or have anxiety my blood sugar consistently drops below 70. I purchased my own digital glucose meter with digital print outs so I could prove to the doctor it is happening. I have experienced seizures and the other common symptoms of hypoglycemia. I don't know what to do to treat this issue and my doctor has not offered much help.

Hi,

Most probably you are suffering of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). I'd suggest to keep monitoring your blood sugar especially when you have anxiety, stress and record the results.

You can measure blood sugar 2 hours after eating and fasting, together with HbA1C level.

If the results are low, then, should further test

- the levels of insulin in your blood together with
- abdominal ultrasound to check liver and pancreas problems
- measure the levels of thyroid hormones in blood

Hope it helped!
