Body Feels Hot While Sleeping. What Could Be The Reason ?
I am a 23 year old female in great health. I exercise 5 days a week, eat healthy, get regular sleep, and drink lots of water. For some reason when I sleep my body/skin is really hot. So hot that when I share a bed no one wants to sleep close to me. When I wake up sometimes I am a little sweaty. This has been happening to me for as long as I can remember. When I was younger I used to sleep with the fan on on top of my sheets in the summer because I was too hot. I have had my thryoid checked and there is nothing wrong with it. My family is very healthy and we don't have a history of illness. Do you have any idea what could be going on?
Thanks for the query
The causes of hot sensation could be related to many factors and one of the common cause noted in clinical practice is excess functioning of thyroid gland.
Please undergo a basic medical evaluation for the same. You may have hyperthyroidism.
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your query in detail.
It happens many times and to tell you frankly its not pathological. Incase if you are having an elevated Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) there is this incresae body temprature. Manytimes this normalizes after a few years when you enter in your 30s.
If your thyroid is normal, then you need not worry.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
Wish you good health,
Dr. Pooja Reddy M.D.
