Breathing Problems, Started Periods. Nose Surgery Scheduled. Will Periods Cause Complications?
Hi, my name is XXXXXXXX, I m an 18 years old girl and I m having a nose surgery tomorrow due to breathing problems. But today my period started and my doctor had warned me not to be on my period while having the surgery. I was wondering if that would cause me any complications or induce any risk. And should I let the doctor know of it? Please help! Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your query

It is suggested that one should avoid planned surgery during period. As such this is not a definite contraindications but then anesthesia and post operative period brings lot of distress and uncomfortable situation for the patient. Menses in this duration increases one’s agony. I feel it is better to share it with your doctor
I hope this answers your concerns
