Broke Ankle, Had Reconstructive Surgery, 3plates, Screws Fixed. Infection, Dark Blacks Spots In One Of The Incisions
Hi, My grandmother broke her ankle 2 months ago. She had reconstructive surgery. 3 plates and numerous screws were affixed. She has had a pretty serious infection in one of the incisions. She is on several sets of antibiotics and has a home health nurse making daily visits to adjust the wrappings and administer the antibiotics via IV. The last week she's had dark black spots starting to appear several inches above where her incision was made. What could they be?
As per your history there is infection around surgical site. If IV antibiotic are not working then debridement and resuturing of wound should be done.
Till time take rest ,follow limb elevation instructions.
