Broke Into Hives After Allergic Reaction To Hair Dye And Got More On Taking Avelox For Sinus Infection?
Built up an allergic reaction to hair dye and broke out into hives. On prednisone and benydril for two weeks and still have hives breaking out. In addition I have a sinus infection and put onAvelox and have more hives. Does this mean I'm allergic to avelox also.

Hello, Welcome to HCM, As you developed allergic reactions following dyeing of hair, it will take some time to reduce the symptoms.As your doctor has advised medications for treating generalized hives, you need to take treatment for some more days to control the symptoms. In addition to the drugs for treating hives, you have been given a course of oral antibiotics to prevent and treat any secondary bacterial infection, with this medications your symptoms will improve. If your symptoms are not coming down you can 1.Apply Ice packs on the areas of hives 2.Avoid exposure to hair dyes 3.Oral Montek LC. 4.Steam inhalation with Vapocaps With the medicines and the above remedies, your symptoms will improve.
