Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi doc i broke my left hand's pinky 3 days ago, A&E gave appointment to get it seen in 15 days. now , the initial balloon swelling has gone down but my hand is changing colour before me ( mainly blue/purple/yellow) . what should I do? Wait for the appointment or fgo back to A&E? any advice would be greatly appreciate it. thank you
I understand your concern and it is gravely concerning if your hand is changing color too. I wonder if there was an x-ray taken of your hand and your forearm and whether there was more than a fracture. If you had a skin injury with an open wound I am guessing that you also have an infection which is resulting in the skin color changes. I hope you get yourself checked by the A&E again after calling your doctor's office where you have an appointment. I hope this helps.
Take care and have a lovely day!
