Broken Toe, Itching, Burning, Painful, Swollen. Cause? Taken Ibuprofen
I broke my toe, the 4th one right by my little toe. I didn't go to the doctor but consulted a nurse friend. I was told there isn't anything they could do for a broken toe. Well, now it is itching and burning like crazy which when added to the pain is a little unbearable. This happen 3 days ago. It is a little crooked, real swollen and painful. I tried taping it to my other toe but that seemed to hurt way too much. My concern is with the burning and itching. What is causing that? I have only been taking Ibuprofen.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The symptoms that you are having are likely to be due to a nerve involvement in the broken fragments of the bone. The immobilization with a cast might be needed to reduce the symptoms. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
