Brown Discharge And Spotting After Pelvic Exam. Inflamed Cervix. Pregnant. History Of Miscarriages. Normal?

I m around 5 weeks pregnant and went to the hospital due to not being able to eat because of all day sickness. Didn t have an ultrasound but had a pelvic exam and was told my cervix was inflamed. Every since the pelvic exam I ve had a brownish discharge and a tad bit of spotting. I ve had two miscarragies previously I m worried to death. Is this normal?

Hello,
In the current scenario, this spotting cannot be taken lightly in view of the past history of miscarriages. You should report the matter to your consultant immediately, get a pelvic/trans-vaginal sonogram to see the location of the gestation sac and the viability, take absolute bed rest and avoid all forms of stress including intercourse. If the cause of your previous abortions has been understood, specific treatment needs to be applied as a precaution. Please try to avoid anxiety as this is not good for the pregnancy. The spotting could be from the inflamed cervix and not from the uterus at all. Hope your query has been answered. Wish you good health.
