Burning Sensation Week Before Period, On Birth Control, Paining While Having Food. Recommendations?

for the past few years, i always get this burning pain about a week before my period in my stomach in the mid afternoon/evening. im guessing its a digestion issue but im not sure. ive been on BC for a few yrs and wondering if it has anything to do with this... it hurts when i eat though. not spicy foods or alcohol, any foods at all. please help

Hi,
Thanks for the query.

Some amount of abdominal cramps are common during premenstrual phase.
Progesterone can lead to relaxation of esophageal sphincter and can lead to the regurgitation of food also.
So taking small quantity of food at more frequent interval, maintaining atleast 2 hours gap between food and sleep can help.
If needed you can go for antacids, which can also help you to some extent.
If the problem persist better to consult gynecologist once and get examined.
