CT SCAN Shows Extensive Opacification Is Noted In Facial Sinuses Most Markedly Affecting Right Frontal
i HAVE HAD A CT SCAN OF THE SINUSES. EXTENSIVE OPACIFICATION IS NOTED IN THE FACIAL SINUSES MOST MARKEDLY AFFECTING RIGHT FRONTAL, ETHMOID AND MAXILLARY AIR CELLS. THERE IS ALSO A ROUND FLUID SOFT TISSUE OPACITY IN THE LEFT MAXILLARY ANTRUM, POSSIBLY A RETENTION CYST. MILDER INVOLVEMENT OF THE SPHENOID LEFT ETHMOID AND LEFT FRONTAL AIR CELLS IS SEEN. THE RIGHT OSTIOMEATAL UNIT IS COMPLETELY OCCLUDED. PARTIAL OBSTRUCTION OF THE LEFT OSTIOMEATAL UNIT IS SEEN. DEVIATION OF THE NASAL SEPTUM TO THE LEFT IS NOTED. THE NASAL MUCOSAL HAS A SLIGHTLY POLYPOID CONTOUR. IMPRESSION; EXTENSIVE SINUS DISEASE, WORSE ON THE RIGHT SIDE, WITH OSTIOMEATAL UNIT OCCLUSION.
You have got sinusitis involving the paranasal air sinuses, more on the right side. There is also mention of a small cyst in left maxillary sinus. These features do not suggest any serious underlying condition but can cause significant discomfort to the patient in terms of constant headaches and running nose.
I suggest you consult an ENT surgeon and take necessary treatment.
Hope this helps
