Hi Dr I am 31 and have Behcet Syndrome..it is controlled by the medication given by my Drs. since almost 12 years now..I am on Medrol 2mg per day and Zycolchine once a day..my ht is 190 cms and wt is 87 Kgs approx..my question is this detectable by VDRL/RPR..to what percentage ?
Hi.Welcome to Healthcaremagic. Behcet's syndrome effects certain specific areas in the body and is diagnosed based on those specific symptoms after excluding diseases which cause similar symptoms. Its not detected by any single test.It can some times can wrongly give a VDRL/RPR test positive due to interference of few blood particles in patients with Behcets with the test but that doesn't mean that it detects the disease. So Behcets is not detected by VDRL/RPR. Hope that answers the question.Thank You.
