I had a DVT and i was prescribed coumadin to thin my blood. During this time on the medecine i became pregnant. My doctor did research and said that if i had stoped taking the coumadin before the 8th week, which i did, the fetus should be fine.



I am not sure if I became pregnant in November or December of 2010. I missed my menstrual period in December but after taking three pregnancy tests they were all negative. In January 2011 i missed my period once again and i found out i was pregnant.



Acording to my last period of 11/01/2010 i am supposed to be about 16 weeks pregnant.



My gynecologyst told me that the fetus is about 3 weeks behind on the growth scale acording to his charts.



Could this be that the dates have been miscalculated or could this be related to the coumadin use before and during the first few weeks of pregnancy? Are there any tests that can be done? my doctor wants to do a amniocentesis.
