Can D5 1/2 With 20 MEq Of K Cause Any Side Effects To Ileostomy?

I'm a nursing student and I am completing a care plan for a patient with Crohn's disease. The patient has just undergone a pouch revision with an ileostomy. He is getting D5 1/2 with 20mEq of K. This is a hypertonic solution. But, I'm not sure of the side effects of this solution. Will you help me please?

Yes D5 1/2 with 20mEq of K+ is hypertonic but it doesn't cause any side effects but monitor patient's blood sugar and potassium .
