Hi Alokraja
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
You should not stop the drug abruptly.I advise you to visit your Neurologist and ask for continuation of treatment.Treatment can be changed based on your symptoms.
It is better for you to attend your Doctor before you are done with the tablets prescribed.
Take care
Hi,
It is unfortunate that your doctor misunderstood your lack of follow up for lack of compliance, but it is natural for a doctor to expect regular follow up for various reasons. Try to calmly convey to him that you did not do so intentionally and did not leave the medicines.
It can be dangerous to suddenly stop anti epileptic medicines. Therefore it is always advisable to do the same under the supervision of a doctor.
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic. Most of epilepsies would have gone in to remission if you have taken medicines regularly for about 3-5 years. If you have a genetic epilepsy you may require life long medicnes. So get clarified from neurologist and then slowly reduce the medicine as advised from the specilist. Your EEG and MRI of the brain should also be normal.
