Hi, I had a run in with a pit bull two days ago. I went to the ER shortly after the attack on my right calf. The doctor in the ER prescribed me two things, an antibiotic as well as a anti inflammatory/pain reliever. I wasn t able to fill the prescription for the Vicofren but I do have some Lortab, same mg of hydrocodone only missing the anti inflammatory which i could take ibuprofen for. Should I stick with just the Lortab when I m in pain or take the Ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation as well? The important question is, after two days the bites are only at a mild pain, a one or two but when walking or trying to straighten my leg my calf suffers much more pain, a five or a six. Should this be normal of a puncture wound on a calf? Should I seek further medical attention or wait it out for a few weeks to see if the pain lessens. Thank you for your time, Dog bite victim
