Can MRI Be Done By Putting Him In Backwards To Scan The Lower Back ?

My husband is about to have another MRI on his lower back but found the last one very stressing I know you can be sedated but my question is can they do the MRI by putting him in backwards to scan the lower back. He has large shoulder where he feels he is squashed in the unit

Yes it would be possible to place him backwards and do the MRI of lower spine.But it would be more uncomfortable than the usual position.With recent advances in imaging techniques it is now possible to do MRI in standing and sitting position also.Such Standing MRI centers are fast becoming avaliable in most of the tier1 cities across the world.And of course there is always the option of MRI under sedation.
