Can Starlix Be Used In Place Of Insulin Injections?
I am taking 12 Units of NovoRapid FlexPen before BREAKFAST, 10 Units of the same before Lunch and 28 Units of Lantus Solostar After Dinner. I take Rice at Lunch but Rooti/Paratha at Breakfast and Dinner. My suger level is well under control in last couple of months - Fasting: around 3 - 4, After Lunch: around 3.5 - 5.5. I want to replace insulin with Tablet. At least for Lunch since I go out, work and taking insulin is troublesome at times while outside. Can I use Starlix?
hi, Startlix or Nateglinide might not give you a very smooth and prolonged control. it's duration of action is very short. what type of diabetes do you have? if you are a type 2 diabetic you can surely be weaned out of insulin slowly and gradually and allowed to continue on tablets.
