Can A Bite From A Dog ( Vaccinated 6 Mnths Ago For Rabies ) Cause Vertigo, Weakness, Shoulder Ache In The Arm Where It Bit?

My German shepherd bit me (OK mauled me for 10 minutes) 5 weeks ago. He was acting strange for a few weeks prior but not to me. I thought he was just frustrated from lack of playtime.

Luckily I had coat on and only had one deeper bite and a much shallower one on my other arm. Bad bruising though. From wrists to upper arm. He had rabies vaccine 6 months earlier. Although he broke out of yard a few times I never saw any signs of bites or scratches when he came home.

Had to call animal control. He scared the crap out of me and was still growling next day. ASPCA confined him for 10 days but never called me when they put him down or with any results etc. I haven't been able to reach anyone to help me.

I washed wounds and other than normal pain they cleaned up and closed nicely. No infection.

Now its 5 weeks later. No answer on results of dog and my shoulder (not where I was bit) hurts. I'm tired allthe time and dizzy sometimes. Virtigo with balance off a lot. Eyes hurt and sting like I've been awake for two days yet haven't. I've been an early riser for over 10 years and now just can't get up in am for last 2 weeks. No energy and 4 days ago shoulder ache is running down my arm. Very hard to pick up even 3 lbs with that arm. Other arm is fine. Heat and cold packs don't make it better.

No insurance so shots aren't going to happen unless I know I need them and I figure since health department nor ASPCA has called me rabies isn't an issue.

Could this just be a coincidence or could my recent malady be from dog bite??

HI'
Thank for asking to HCM
I can understand that your dog being vaccinated , and dog is doing fine after bite, "The prevention is better than cure" why not to follow this quot, If I would be your doctor then I would suggest for prophylactic shot of anti- rabies why to take a chance, have nice day.
