Can A Feel Of Tear In The Abdomen Be Caused Due To Hernia?

I was diagnosed with pneumonia in August. The CXR also showed a hiatal hernia. In September another CXR was done to check for FX ribs. I had 7 broken ribs from coughing and the hiatal hernea was larger. When I was coughing I could feel something tearing in my abdomen, could this have been the process of the hernea?

Hi. The power with which the violent cough comes is really great and is so much that it has broken your ribs ( bones are the toughest structures in the body). It is very well possible tearing in abdomen felling was due to the same cough. This can definitely cause hernia.
