Can A Pinched Nerve Lead To Itching On The Arm?

I have a very itchy arm, no rash that started a few years ago around my right wrist. It has now developed up my arm. I have seen a neurologist and told there are no problems. I had to take Prednisolone earlier in the year and the itching disappeared immediately but now I am finished with them the itching has come back and seems even worse. I do have lumbar back problems and have read it could be caused by a pinched nerve.
