Hi,
A pregnant lady with tuberculosis (TB) can definitely transmit TB to her child. Tb usually affects lungs primarily. It can however spread to other organs like bone, kidneys etc too. Cardiomegaly (mild) is common feature in newborns and it is not a disease but a sign. Children with cardiomegaly have high risk of developing respiratory infections including TB. TB in newborns can also be treated and mother can also be treated. There are various blood tests, chest x-ray and CT chest for diagnosing TB.
