Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of reflux for the last 2 years - Gastro Doctor examined
esophagus and said to be normal without any
heartburn for a long time.
ENT Doctor noticed lumps on the
larynx and said to be probably from reflux, there is soreness and
hoarseness in recent months - you think are caused by
pepsin in throat and got corrected with high ph diet - wants to know more of complete cure and to reduce the potential for recurring throat problems while returning to normal diet.
This confirms that Gastro has said that there is no problem with esophagus and there is no heartburn, hence this is difficult to know the exact cause. It is possible that changing to the high ph foods might have helped locally rather than by reducing the reflux as it is not present.
Secondly, this can be a local problem of
pharyngitis and hence may need a a proper evaluation of the
respiratory tract also and to find out the instigating or enhancing factors.
You may have to continue the diet as you are on , slowing changing to the normal one and observing which of the foods and beverages cause the problems and stop altogether.
