Can 'amoxclav' (400 Mg) Twice Daily Help Normalising A Swollen Face?
my 6 year old daughter has her left side of her face very swollen. took her to the er and they said infection and gave her amox clav 400 mg . They told me to give twice a day for ten days. She had her first two doses today and it is still really swollen if not worse. Is this normal and if so how long till the swelling starts to go away and is there anything else I can do?

Amoxy clav is given to control infection.
To reduce pain and swelling quickly you have to take Ibuprofen 10 mg/kg 2-3 times daily.Usually it takes 5-7 days
You may also give hot water fomentation once a day.
