Can An Overdose Of Paracetamol Cause Side Effects Like Nausea, Back Pain?
I overdosed on paracetamol a few days ago and since then have suffered nausea. I couldn t eat for about 3 days but managed something yesterday but still suffering nausea. Also suffering from lower back pain and stomach pain. Will I be okay? I m too ashamed to see about it
Yes...you would be okay when all of the drugs would be flushed out of your system. Keep yourself hydrated well.
The total maximum permitted dose of paracetamol. Please don't overshoot it. This would cause adverse effects on liver and kidneys and at times, poisoning for which N Acetylcysteine is used as an antidote. Use hot fomentation and take rest for backache instead of drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
