Can Antibiotics Cause Itchiness Around Anus?
thank you. I have been on antibiotics for the last four days because of diverticulitis and this morning the area around my anus is itchy. I have cleaned thoroughly, applied E45 to soothe the area, is it a side effect of D or the antibiotics - one of each 3 times a day Co-amaxiclav 500/125mg and Metronidazole 400 mg

Diverticulitis does not produce peri anal itching.
This can be an allergy to the Co-amoxiclav or to metronidazole, the former commoner than the latter.
Other likely cause can be a fungal infection or pin worms.
