Can C-diff Affect Colon Health?

I have been diagnosed with c-diff. I am currently seeing an Infectious Disease Specialist. I have taken over 200 Flagyl pills, also 56 Vancomycin pills since being diagnosed in Jan. My symptoms are not going away and I am worried about my colon health since I have been suffering since last December.

Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic, I am Dr Asad Riaz, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.
c.difficile is an organism which causes pseudo membranous colitis ,a disease in which patient have inflamed colon,but this disease can be cured with med like u r taking, it doesn't cause serious colon damage ,this organism affect mostly of normal flora of intestine is disturb ESP if some one taking antibiotics for long time,if u were my patient I would like to have stool exam n also stop med to see that this med are not causing this disease .
