can decaying large bone spurs on the tibia and/or fibia cause calcified calf muscles? I've had dull pain in my calf muscles of both legs for over fifty years. No doctor has been able to tell me why. Now the pain is not dull. It is quite severe, and constant. In 1957, while going to Xray tech. school, i voenteered to have my legs xrayed by my class. The results surprised eveyone. Even the presiding Radiologist. Many large spurs (triangular - up to 3/4" tall and up to 1" at the base.) were found along all the long bones of both legs. I was told that it probably wouldn't cause any problems. Perhaps the dull pain was caused by them, but I never made the connection. I learned in 2003 that I had had bone spurs in my lumbar spine that upon decaying had caused arthritis which in turn had caused acute scoiosis. Also at an earlier date I was told that I had bone spurs between the small bones of my right.foot that were likley to turn into arthritis. Since my doctor has no andswer to my current pain, I asked for xrays of below the knee of both legs. When I was told that nothing adnormal was found I asked to see the Xrays. They were right - the bone spurs were gone. Could my problem be calcified muscle?
