Fiancee (spelling?) has diabetes. Does not take care of himself AT ALL. Has major diabetic sores on trunk/arms which sometimes end up being treated in the emergency room. But they never go away. Then, last night he got fever, chills, tremors so bad that he kept thinking it was diabetic related, but neither of us could find anything on the internet to confirm this. His blood sugar level THIS MORNING was 445.... did not take it last evening, nor did he use the insulin last evening.
Diabetes itself does not cause fever with chills and tremors, but high blood sugars can cause lot of infections like 1. Urinary tract infections 2. Pulmonary infections 3. Stones in the renal tract.
So lot of other infections in the body can cause fever with chills and tremors. So dont worry
Get Urine routine examination done, rule out the possiblity.
If there is any infection, then start appropriate antibiotics. Hope it will be all well.
THanks
