Can Heart Palpitations, Fatigue And Light Headiness Happen Due To Hiatal Hernia?
I recently had an endoscopy and found I had a 10 cent. hiatal hernia pushing on my esophagus. I am also experiencing heart palpitations and fatigue and having light headiness. Could all these symptoms be because of the hiatal hernia. I have had an ekg and an MRI of the brain.
Hiatal hernias can cause worsening of acid reflux symptoms but would not normally affect the heart.
They would symptoms related to the gastrointestinal tract.
The EKG would have shown if there are any issues with the heart in terms of its rate and rhythm. If this was normal then it is likely that there are no serious heart related issues.
If the palpitations and fatigue continue then you may need a full blood count and thyroid function test.
I hope this helps
