Hi welcome to HCM.
Yes elevated blood pressure can cause various medical problems. It can lead to pressure on heart causing congestive cardiac failure precipitating heart attacks. It can also lead to renal shutdown ,if not properly treated in time.Maintain the blood pressure below 130/80 mm of Hg.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6 gm /day.Dose modification is needed if the blood pressure is not controlled accordingly.I advise you to have a baseline echo and ecg to rule out organic heart disease.Avoid meals after 8 pm to restrict symptoms of acid reflux. An upper gi endoscopy will help to document any peptic ulceration in the lung.Hence i recommend an annual endoscopy on regular basis.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
Thank you.
