Can Hitting Head Be A Reason For Bruised Eyeball And Swollen Bloodshot Eyes?
my left eyeball feels bruised, maybe a bit swollen, and it is bloodshot compared to the right eye. When i go to rub my eye or something it feels like a bruise.. pain is worse in the morning.. I did hit my head a week ago on the right side? not sure if thats related. Any thoughts?
Hello It seems from the history that you had a injury to the head and following this you are having bruising and swollen blood shot eyes. This is because of collection of blood under the conjunctiva and in the layers of the eye lid. This is common following injuries to the face above the level of the head. This will resolve over 3-4 weeks. Applying cold compress will provide symptomatic relief.
Thank you
