Can Invega And Thyroid Cause Pacing And Excess Intake Of Water?
Hi, my daughter was diagnosed with Schizoid-effective disorder 7 years ago. I have had great difficulty finding a psychiatrist and a hospital in the local area to treat her (Clearwater). I just admitted her a week ago in the Largo Medical Behavioral Center in Largo. They discharged her today without a consult first. They actually didn t let me know that she was coming home. They paid for a cab. They tried calling me once but I didn t have my phone so they sent her home in a cab. She is pacing and also drinking fluids excessively. The doctor at the clinic said that it was caused by a drug called Invega and her thyroid. I happen to have a thyroid condition and know that you have to take medicine for that. They said that her thyroid fluctuated but it s normal now. She came home today and is still pacing and drinking a lot of fluids. I don t know what to do. Can you help?

Hello, Thyroid pathologies do not cause excessive thirst. I would suggest checking her blood sugar to rule out Diabetes. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Mirjeta Guni, Endocrinologist
