Can Liver Dysfunction Lead To Severe Acne Problems?
Good day doctor, am 26. i have had very bad acne for some years. i have tried most suggested medications to no avail. i have a liver problem which i know if not functioning well could cause hormonal imbalance and lead to the acne. i went to see a doctor and she prescribed livolin forte for the liver. will this medicine reduce the severity of the acne after a while or is there something more i can do. thank you
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe acne problems which seems to be due to hormonal imbalance as per your query . If doctor prescribed you to take this medicine at some particular time then you should strictly take medicine as per prescription otherwise it may have adverse effect . Beside that i would suggest you to wash your face with face wash containing salicylic acid , exfoliate your skin once a week , apply raw honey on acne for 15 minutes daily and then wash , drink plenty of water and eat fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. You should start with use of topical antibacterial clindamycin gel as a spot treatment for acne during day time and at night you may use a topical retinoid like Adapalene gel.
Hope your concern has been resolved. get well soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
