Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i ve used both loette and novelon in the past. for the last 1.5 years i ve not used any pill. i now need to delay my period and so want to get on the pill for 2 continuous months just for this reason. can i use loette? what are the differences between loette and novelon?
Periods can be delayed for 5 to 10 days.Further delay can affect your uterine physiology. Delay in periods by drugs occurs by stopping the uterine shedding. It should not be delayed for months since it can cause heavy bleeding post stopping the drugs.
Both novelon and loette contains Ethinyl Estradiol. The second rug is different which is Desogestrel and levonorgestrel respectively. Loette is very commonly used. Desogesterol is a newer drug and may be beneficial in acne related symptoms.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
