What Causes A Thick Discharge With Abdominal Cramps?

Hello,I just started taking the mini pill (desirett) for the past four weeks. I had been off the pill since October. Normally I would have my period now but instead it is thick discharge of what would have been my period. I have lower abdominal cramps that have been getting worse all evening. It is difficult to walk. Should I go see a doctor?

Hello,

A few conditions where you get thick discharge are pelvic inflammatory disease or some infection in cervix or uterus, vaginitis or vaginal infection, any fibroid in uterus, endometriosis and adenomyosis. Please do consult a gynecologist as early as possible as it's very difficult for you to walk even. You can take tab. Meftal spas for relief of abdominal cramps.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
