Hello,

All people suffering from migraine have pain triggers those include heat, direct sunlight to the head, fasting, sleep deprivation, stress, some foods (like aged cheeses, alcohol, smoked fish or cured meat), some chemicals in food as monosodium glutamate. If you want to leave the tablets, try to avoid all the pain triggers, do some exercise, stay well hydrated, sleep well, and avoid rich tyramine foods.

I suggest writing a migraine diary with all the characteristics of your pain (side, duration, symptoms as nausea, photophobia, noise intolerance, exacerbation with movements) triggers. This will help you to identify your own triggers and avoid them, so you can live with less pain. Also, you can get the attack frequency. If you are having more than 4 migraine attacks per month, I suggest to try some prophylactic medication as Topiramate, Propranolol, Amitryptiline, magnesium, Riboflavin, coenzyme Q 10.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Arturo Benítez-Serrato
