Can Milk Thistle 1000mg Be Taken With Amlodipine 10mg?
Can milk thistle 1000mg be taken with amlodipine 10mg and lisinopril 5mg safely? The amlodipine and lisinopril are taken each morning. I have very high blood pressure and recently had some bloodwork done and was told my liver enzymes were slightly elevated .
Hi, I don't believe there is any interaction between Milk Thistle and Amlodopin, Milk Thistle and Lisinopril, as both medications are cleared by Kidney and not liver, Milk Thistle could interact with some medications which are cleared by liver though. Also there is no scientific study supporting the effectiveness of Milk Thistle for liver disease, although it could help with Diabetes and high Cholesterol. Usually elevated liver enzymes are due to fatty liver and all you need to do is to lose weight, eat right and avoid alcohol, Fish oil might help, too.
