Can Norethisterone Taken For Hormonal Imbalance Stop Ovulation?
I have had a history of heavy periods, infrequent periods, where I have bled daily for uptime 2 months until I went to see GP. He put me on norethisterone, saying it was due to hormonal imbalance, I stopped within days. After the course prescribed I had a heavy bleed as expected. This stopped within a day or 2. Since then I have now gone to the other extreme where I haven't ovulated for 2 months now. We are trying to concieve but there is no chance until I get a period again. Is there anything wrong or will they return soon?
Hello, Welcome to HCM, Norethisterone is basically hormone. As you said you have a heavy, irregular periods, so first you have to consult gynecologist for proper diagnosis. It seems to be like PCOD. Donot take any hormonal medicine without proper diagnosis. In your case, stopped ovulation is might be because of this medicine as a side effect or like withdrawal effect. Hormonal problems are directly connected with mental issues like stress, anxiety, tension, etc. So it should be considered in corresponding line of treatment. Homeopathy is best choice of treatment in hormonal imbalance and infertility related to it. Have a better health. subhashponkiya@gmail.com
