Hello,

Phenoxymethylpenicillin is generally considered safe to take during pregnancy. It belongs to a group of antibiotics called penicillin, which have been widely used during pregnancy for many years without any known harmful effects on the developing fetus.

In the case of tonsillitis, it's important to treat the infection as soon as possible to prevent it from getting worse. If left untreated, tonsillitis can lead to complications that could harm both you and your developing baby. The prescribed dose is commonly used for the treatment of tonsillitis and seldom causes any harm to the baby.

Therefore, it's advisable to follow your doctor's instructions and take the medication as prescribed, unless your doctor advises otherwise based on any other medical condition.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
