Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
You have been using a potent topical steroid i.e
clobetasol propionate, on your face, which is absolutely contraindicated for acne. You must no longer use it on face.
I must tell you that steroids have no role whatsoever in acne and moreover if used regularly, steroids may rather increase acne apart from causing other side effects like
photosensitivity and facial hair growth, specially troublesome in females.
Glycolic acid cream is too mild to be effective for both acne as well as acne spots.
If I was the treating doctor I would have started you on
oral antibiotics e.g either Azithomycin Or Doxycyline for active acne.
Oral antibiotics can be continued for a few weeks depending on acne activity and the response to treatment.
Topical antiacne gels/creams containing ingredients like Clindamycin,
Benzoyl peroxide, Adapalene etc are usually effective for mild acne. Topicals may be combined with Oral treatment for moderately severe to severe inflammatory acne.
I would suggest that you visit a
dermatologist in your region. Your treating doctor will assess the severity of your acne and advice accordingly.
