hi doc , my brother is his early thirties and undergo surgical in lumbar spine,he was not given immediately medical attention for more than 2o days when he was working as a seaman,is their a possibility because of his encountered of pulling a mooring rope is the cause of his lumbar spine?thanks .

hello and welcome. yes..it can cause low back pain because of conti nous use of back muscles and mostly effect tendons,ligaments and muscles and it is relieved with rest and medications bony involvement occurs when there is trauma for example a fall while pulling a rope and it need surgery. may be your brother had some kind of injury while working and he might have ignored it... hope you'd understand. thanks bye
